Kimos Restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping into Kimos Restaurant on Mt Pleasant in Liverpool feels like slipping into a familiar, well-loved corner of the city — a place where the day’s pace softens and the comfort of shared meals takes center stage. The atmosphere strikes a harmonious balance between relaxed and warmly bustling, inviting both longtime regulars and new visitors to settle in and savor the moment.
There’s a timeless quality here: a blend of Mediterranean warmth with subtle Moroccan notes that lingers in the air, mingling with the friendly hum of conversations and the gentle clatter of plates. Whether it’s a weekend breakfast or an evening meal, the mood encourages slowing down, enjoying the company at your table, and tasting dishes that feel both familiar and thoughtfully crafted.
The menu reveals itself not as a rigid list, but as an invitation to explore layered flavors and comfort food with a twist—halal English breakfasts that start the day with a sense of ease, vibrant kebabs grilled to tender perfection, and spiced rice dishes that carry the subtle aromas of North Africa. Even casual dishes like pizza and hearty portions of classic fish and chips find new life here, accompanied by the refreshing lift of Moroccan mint tea or jasmine to finish your meal on a calm note.
Over the years, Kimos has quietly kept its essence intact. The same unpretentious, welcoming vibe continues to draw people back — whether locals recalling fond memories or newcomers discovering a spot that feels like a warm, well-kept secret. It’s not just about the food, but the rhythm of being somewhere that cherishes simple, joyful moments shared around the table.

It's been a while since we've been here but not a lot has changed the food is as good as it was a couple of years ago 5*, the staff are always lovely. We love the place and if you haven't tried it it's worth a visit. Thanks Kimos

This was recommended from a friend. The atmosphere was really welcoming and comforting. I wanted to sit on the sofa but decided to sit in the normal table/chairs. We went for breakfast and I loved the Kabdeh. We needed more bread but I still loved it. Would have ordered more if I could eat more but I got full! Would definitely recommend and visit next time I am in Liverpool again! Only thing I want to tell the restaurant is to clean the menus and table a little better. Thanks for the service though!

Been coming here for over 10 years. Lovely breakfast. Lovely burgers. Lovely kebabs. Vibe and ambience are also very nice. Overall a wonderful cafe and a very pleasant experience.

Best restaurant in town. Has hardly changed in 20+ years.

I used to go here after college... Nigh on 10 or 15 years ago... I can tell you nothing has changed...in a good way ... Prices, vibe, and delicious food!!! We got all this foods and drinks around £40. The portion sizes where very generous and the plate was very colourful... We got our food quickly.... It was just a shame it was a Saturday night... Business was steady... I really don't see why this business isn't booming in here!!! Was greeted by someone who I assume was the owner and he was very attentive.... The music was very chill... And the decor made me feel like I was on holiday.... We will definitely be making an another appearance here... I am disappointed I didn't come here sooner and more regular as now it's probably one of my favorite restaurants in Liverpool.... Subconsciously it always has been!!! Xx

Always a lovely meal at kimos Starter of in house made fresh hummus and fresh pitta is delectable very fresh and can taste all the flavours coming thru Chicken Mendy is devine with the chicken so soft and tender falling off the bone in a home made marinade with rice so soft and fresh with small pieces of fresh veg. Came with pickled cabbage salad crunchy and lovely The garlic cheese bread is amazing it comes as a calazone type and the cheese pull together with he garlic butter is sensational. The lamb Mendy is amazing also. The lamb biryani was tasty but I felt it could have had more meat in. Will keep going back no doubt.
